Grasping at an image from memory.
A growing body of connections, wounds, explosions, traces, waves of memory – an inner mapping; dialogue.
The work consists of 66 images from high quality digital scans, detailing traces of dirt and fungi on the textured surface of tape.
Numerous pieces of tape that held together weathered cardboard boxes, filled with junk metal, were collected from within an old collapsing shed. The tape fragments were scanned, altered in black and white, inverted, and then cropped, to reveal images reminiscent of space, and inspired by micrography & neural pathways.
